... And I'm feelin' blue...

Oh no, I'm not, it's just a Michael Buble's song! Anyway this card is definitely blue. But sweet in the same time.
It's made according to Sentimental Sundays's sketch:
sketch #112
This sweet little fairy is a freebie from Pollycraft Designs and you can download it HERE. I've coloured her with watercolours again and this is the technique, that's best for me untill I'll get rich and buy some copics or promarkers or other such markers. LOL
The fairy has got double wings, the second ones are made of clear material glued with glitter glue - hope you can see it.
The sentiment says just: 'For you' - could be for B'day, a thank you card, or just like that, 'cos I like you :)
The Fairy is making her magic in the following challenges:

Steampunk

OK, this is also 'my first time ever'. I like steampunk cards very much, but I was afraid of making one, 'cos I still think I'm not good enough yet. But I have to try to find out.

While making of this card I used only rubber / sillicone stamps & ink. There are also a few elements taken from a scrapbook sets I bought a few months ago.
There's so much going on here... Let's start from the shiny 'metal' parts.
I still haven't got a die cut machine, so I had to make my own gears with scissors. Close enough LOL
The sentiment is written by me on such kind of sequins with a permanent marker. It says 'Don't be afraid to dream'.
And if this is a dream, the clock is having three hands - why not? There is also an elephant with wings, and some of its feathers are from metal, as well as the fasten machinery. These are the stams from THIS and THIS Viva Decor sets. The stamp with the Vitruvian Man is very pale, but that's OK.
The Post Card is made with Big Shot die cutting machine, which I was able to try last week at some craft workshop, and I'm sure - I WANT IT!!! I have to save some money for this beauty.
Anyway, I was also playing with ink while making inside part of this card (with my 'blending tool' LOL).
The steampunk party takes place in the following challenges:

Challenge #72: Star Struck
This week, the team wants to see your STAR projects!  Your project must have at least 3 stars, none less!  So get started and join us this week, you will have time until Sunday, July 29th @ 11:59pm (EST)!
If you would like to enter your card, click HERE.

My DT card for this challenge made my mind burning... I've got only one single star punch and none paper with stars (I have to replenish my paper collection). But then I've found this wrapping paper in my stash:
Making your eyes dizzy, when you look at it like this. Anyway I wanted to make a 3D card laying one pic over another with a 3D tape. Here's the card:
It's hard to take a good picture showing the depth, but let's see from an angle:
I used this poor single puncher and scissors to create this star border, it doesn't look so bad. The sentiment says 'For your B'day - this is your day'. It is a stamp covered with embossing powder and heated. I really like the monochromatic character of this card, I think every girl age 6-10 should fall in love with this card LOL.

Are you nuts?

That phrase always make me laugh since I've found out the meaning. I remember I saw it for the first time at Michael Jackson's video 'Black or white' (you know what moment?). But don't worry, we also have some silly phrases, like 'you have got unevenly under your ceiling', which means exactly the same as 'you are nuts'. LOL
Why I am writing about it? I was going to make a BLUE card, but when I was looking for a proper digi, this cute, adorable, sweet little squirrel caught my eye and my plans suddenly changed.
Here's the card that was supposed to be blue:
I think we are having a 'cute alarm' here. I can't watch this little creature without smiling.
Anyway... the digi is a colouring page AGAIN, and it's HERE. It's coloured with watercolours, I also used a border punch on both sides of the paper.
Everything is round here (except the card itself), even the tag. It says 'I've got a present for you'.
The background paper and this one on a tag is a digi paper from Shabby Princess collection.
All the flowers are hand made by me. The biggest one is hand sewed, 'cos I still haven't got the hot glue gun. Nor place for it...
Let's take a look at the squirrel again - isn't it cute? Ooooooooh...
The 'cute alarm' has been announced at the following challenges:

Christmas in July?

It's hard to think about X-mas when it's the middle of the summer here, but I know, I know... the sooner you start... and so on. Anyway this card is not so 'winterish', I wanted it to be a little bit 'fun & sun'.
It's made according to the Willow Sketchie Challenge Blog:

Those two little mice building a snowman is a free colouring kid's page, you can find it HERE. I coloured them with watercolours again, but the paper was worse this time (absorbing water too fast). Anyway it's still better than with school markers.
I also added a little of glitter here, but couldn't make a good pic to catch that effect.
The sentiment says - of course - Merry Christmas. How suprising! LOL

Celebrate holiday

July & August are school summer break, so many people goes on holiday during this period. I can't wait for my holiday trip, that's why I made this card.
The sentiment says: 'may all your days be full of sunshine'.
It's made according to the sketch of Stamps & Fun:
The freebie can be found HERE. There are more adorable ones, so I recommend this site!
I was wondering what can I do to improve coloring of the stamps. As I mentioned before, copics style markers are horrible expensive here, so I probably won't be able to afford them soon. I was very upset until watercolours caught my eye... Hmmmm... worth to try & one set costed me 1/3 price of one marker (sic!). I have been practising the whole week, and... ta daaaaa... here is my first card with stamp coloured with watercolours!
I have to admit it doesn't look so bad. I still have problem colouring hair (especially when I see card like THIS - Coops is my Master of hair colouring!), but it's far far better than colouring with school markers.
And this is my 'colouring station'... LOL
I really love this tiny ship - unfortunately it's the last one I have. I also made the rosettes from cupcake's paper moulds and sew them together with a button.
This blue paper with birds I've found lately in my stash as never used before. I remember I bought it last year for some school purpose, but never used it.
Would you like to join us for our holiday trip? The assembly takes place here (don't be late!):

Cupcake time!

This is my first 'stake of cupcakes' card ever (as a beginner, there will be more & more 'my first ever's').
It's made according to Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge Blog sketch & an inspiration photo by Cupcake Inspirations:

So, each cupcake is different, I especially love those orange & kiwi fruit slices I bought recently, they are supercute! I added lots of glitter and bling, hope you can see it.
I also used the 3D tape to make the cupcakes more popped out.
I have to admit, I really like the yellow & purple colour combination. It's very delicate & tasteful.

TOP 3 at Kaboodle Doodles!

Weeee, another great message!
I am TOP 3 at Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Blog with this card:
The title of the challenge was 'anything French'.
THANK YOU, LADIES! You made my day! Yay!

You ain't nothin' but a ... HOT DOG?

I'm so excited, 'cos this is my first challenge as a DT member at
Photobucket
and my first card made especially for our new challenge.
Challenge #71:  Hot Dog!!
July is National Hot Dog month!
So, in honor of Hot Dog month, we want to see your projects with Hot Dogs (the food)!
You have until Sunday, July 22nd @ 11:59pm!

Now onto my card.
I have to admit I've never heard about this holiday till now, but it seems funny for me & this is the way I'm gonna celebrate.
The hot dog is a free colouring page & you can find it HERE.
I doodled the image around to give it some more life. The music notes are from my first ever bought puncher, and the apple is... I have no idea how old, but I guess very old, as I found it in my stash and it surpised me a lot, that I even have it!
What do you think, what music at Hot Dog's party is? I'm pretty sure, it's all about 'hot' and 'dog', and this is the clue for the track list. Do you know some more?
This is my very own handwriting, by the way...
I hope the card is joyful & funny, as it was supposed to be.

Louvre, here I come!

This is the card for one of my friend's friend. She works in a local museum, so my idea was to wish her a great career and become the Director of Louvre Museum in Paris! Why not? Sky is the limit, isn't it?
Anyway I needed some sketch or stamp with Louvre & I found a perfect one, which is a clolouring page, you can find it HERE.
And there's a new technique I tried: shading with ink. I saw in in THIS tutorial & I had to try! I mentioned before, I haven't got special machines (but they are on my X-mas wishlist!), so I had to manage with the things I have.
I embossed the paper manually using this yellow 'tool' on the left - this is a part of knitting needle - & a FISKARS plate. Then I shaded the paper using brown & black inks with my 'blending tool' LOL I just cut off a piece of kitchen sponge... OK, my hands were also brown & black, but I like the effect on the card.
I made a special business card for the friend - her name is Ewelina, and she just became the 'President-Director of the Musee du Louvre'.
This time I wanted the digi to be delicate, so I coloured it with colouring pencils only and done it a little bit careless for the 'sketch effect' (BTW copic's are horrible expensive in my country in relation to my salary, so I won't buy them soon) :(
There is also a hand made pin and a sentiment 'For your B'day - this is your day'.
I have never been in Paris, but I hope someday I will... meh...
