Birds flyin' high...

... you know how I feel...
OK, let's continue. This is the second card for my friend's Dad (see: previous post).
This time the idea was to decorate the '65' number, which I generated in MS Word. I made the frame using my 'blending tool' (a piece of kitchen sponge LOL) and distressing ink.
The '5' has two birds on it: one on a twig and one sitting in the nest. The 'egg' is a tiny pom-pom. There are also three buttons, as three is a mythical (magical) number: you know: Holy Trinity, Three Musketeers, three wishes for the Golden Fish... LOL
The '6' has one bird on it, and there are some feathers and a twine.
The birds are being cut from the scrapbook sheet I bought lately via internet. They were too pale, I had to doodle the lines with a brown pen. I popped them out a little with a 3D tape. I used the twine to wrap the number and tie the feathers (those white traces is a wet glue, it goes transparent when dry, I was in a hurry while making those pics).
The flower is made of two, and they come from some disassembled decoration. They were originally pale-pink, but I inked every second petal with distressing ink.
You can find this card in the following challenges:

Don't forget to join my DT teams in the wonderful challenges taking place this week.
We are having a CHILD'S B'DAY challenge at
Photobucket
and
a SUMMER SCENE challenge at
craftycreationschallenges
If you think a little, it's easy to combine those two!
Don't miss the opportunity to win a price!

A little birdie told me...

... it's time to make some cards for my friend's Dad, who's turning 65 this year. I made two cards for him (as she wished - one for my friend and one for somebody from her family, too), the second will be in my next post. My friend asked me to make the cards with birds, 'cos her Dad loves birds and has a little breeding.
I've made the card according to the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches:

So, there is a bird sitting on a twig and there are two more on the charm below!
There is another one on the designer paper I used (and have no idea where this come from, I just bought a stake of 6x6 papers during latest arts & crafts workshop, so I guess it comes from those). I stamped the '65' anniversary nearby and the sentiment says 'happy B'day - this is your day'.
I also stamped the circled background  with a stamp called 'old print', but I liked it verticaly more than in the proper way.
A little birdie hid also inside the card:
The card is for the following challenges:

Summer scene

Today is another great day.
This is my first day as an official DT member for
I still can't believe that such a beginner like me could be a member of two wonderful DT's. Dreams come true, people!

My first DT card for Crafty Creations is for the challenge called
SUMMER SCENE
I've decided to make a stepper card and a real summer scene.
This is the card where I have used digis from different artists: Sliekje, Carina's Pysselsida, ScrapHappy Paper Crafter and Otaku-no-Bijutsu. By clicking their names you will go direct to those freebies.
I didn't use too much embelishment here: just a drink umbrella, groats (as a beach sand) and shells brought to me by my friend from last year's holiday at the Baltic Sea. I've concentrated on the 'scene' itself more. So, here we have two kids playing at the beach and there's a boat sailing in the background (I have no idea why the sky appeared at the photo as pink: it's a blue paper with pink butterflies!). I added a little of glitter glue to show the water's sparkle.
And here's their Granny relaxing with a drink in her hand under an umbrella.
The digis are being colored with watercolors. And if you know some good free stepper card template, please let me know. I waisted three sheets of paper to cut the card and even then I had to correct the last one - the dimensions on the template were not right! Meh...
Anyway I've had a lot of fun while making this card. 'Vamos a la playa!'
Soooo, grab your crafting tools and make a scene! A summer scene!

If you want to join us, we are sunbathing also here:

Shy bunny

Ooops, I'm a little late today. The beginning of a new school year is always a dizzy time for all the teachers.
Anyway
We are having a brand new, cool and fresh challenge for you at
Photobucket
Theme: CHILD'S BIRTHDAY!
We know there is a child in your life or a friend's life that will need a birthday card soon.  Or get out those pictures and create a layout of your child's last birthday party. So, go ahead and get started! Take the opportunity to share your creativity!!!! You have time until Sunday, September 2nd@ 11:59pm (EST).
How easy is that?

My DT card for this challenge is this cute & shy bunny:
The digi is from Stamp Fairy and you can download it HERE.
I needed some inspiration this time, that's why I've taken the photo from Just Inspirational Challenges:

There was also a sketch at Friday Sketch Challenge. I've changed it a little bit (just a little), originaly it looks like this:
I've coloured the bunny with watercolors and it looks like it was made of velvet LOL I need a better paint brush. OK, let's state it's a velvet teddy bunny. On the other side I'm proud of the flower coloring.
The cute little ribbon comes from my stash and the charm fits here perfectly. And the sentiment says 'Happy Birthday' of course.
The flowers are handmade by me, I love to make them, they are super-easy and very nice for decorating.
I think this card looks better rounded, it's more delicate than a square.
I'm entering the following challenges with this card:

Top 3 & a winner... AGAIN!

OK, let's say this: this is UN-BE-LIE-VE-ABLE!!! A-MA-ZING!!! MIND-BLOWING!!!

I made TOP 3 at
I Play @ Digi Haven
with this card:

But it's not the end...
I also won at
Tuesday Morning Sketches
with this card:

WEEEEEEEE!
THANK YOU ALL!!!
You know... I like Mondays! OK, THIS particular Monday :D
Take care, people! Keep calm & craft on!

Go green at wedding!

For this card there were only two wishes: it cannot be soooo serious and there should be some green, because the bride loves green color (I wonder if she's having a green wedding dress? That would be interesting!).
The card has been made according to the sketch of 4 Crafty Chicks challenge blog:

The digi is a coloring page (HERE), but I left it uncolored this time. I believe it looks better. I've added a lot of embossing here: outside & inside. A couple weeks ago I've had an opportunity to test the Big Shot machine at a crafting workshop, and since then I suffer for a 'BigShot disease'. The first bigger money, and no-one will stop me from buying it! LOL Anyway, this embossing is the effect of 'testing'.
The pins are handmade by me.
I've decided to test an other folding this time. It's still a 6x6 card, but the opening is in a different place. And it's being hold by the ribbon.
Inside the card there is a light green lace - it doesn't look so well in the pic, but it's green. believe me :)
The card is for the following challenges:

3rd win this week!

This is something probably called 'series law' - after weeks of participating in different challenges with no result, this week this is my 3rd win!!! Weeee!!! And the happiness is still the same! Yay!
This time I won at the
Grab our tag!
with this entry:
I guess my collection of digis will enlarge a little! I'm sooooo happy!
THANK YOU ALL!
Hugs & have a great weekend!

Around the world

My friend caught me today with a desperation in her eyes, screaming 'Ania, I need a card for 18th B'day NOW'. OK, for tomorrow... I don't like to craft like I was working in a fire-brigade, but she looked really serious. So here's the card for 18 year old boy, who's keen on travelling:
I used everything I have connecting with travel: ticket, stamps, map, balloon...
The card has been made according to Tuesday Morning Sketches again (I've chosen the bottom right one):

The digi is from MELONHEADZ and it's HERE. I've colored it with watercolors. I also stamped the background with FISKARS stamps, TRAVEL set.
And here's the recycled part: an old dictionary:
OK, I know, it's not nice to destroy books, but I really like using the old fashioned text pages. Can I? Please...? The balloon is from a vintage collage I bought at latest crafting bazaar in my town.
Anyone for around the world tour?

The theme is a THANK YOU (easel card). We want YOUR card to enter! LOL

I don't know why I didn't write about it yet, but lately I won at 2 challenges. Weeeee!

First was the Lollipop Crafts with this entrance:
And now I've just found out I won at Willow Sketchie Challenge (having no. 13) LOL with my latest DT card:
Great evening, isn't it? Thank you all!!! It seems the puzzle pieces are lucky for me! :D

You've got a friend!

*** Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
all you have to do is call
and I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You've got a friend ***

I'm sure you know the song. It was one of my inspirations for this card:
Second inspiration was the sketch from One Stop Craft:

And the third was the color challenge from Fussy & Fancy Friday, which was

OK, now we've got everything! First the sentence. It says: 'A friend is someone with whom you can think out loud'. The sentiment I generated myself on my PC. I think every kid talks to his animal friends LOL
The flowers (beside that yellow one, which I bought) are handmade by me, I love making fabric flowers using circles. And I sew them, not glue. For the orange one I used also a green cupcake mould.
The digi is from Sliekje Digi Stamps, you have to search through the blog, there are cutest free digis in the whole blogland! I found the digi, said 'Oh, this is fun, I like it', printed, took out my watercolours and....... 'Oh, ^$%@$%%^^, CURLY HAIR!!! I can't color curly hair!'... I've done my best, but... yeah... meh...
There is also a twisted twine on the card, which I made from two sepatared twines. There is also an umbrella charm and an orange gem.
