How to: decoupage

Oh well, another busy week and no time for crafting. Fortunately I am a little bit ahead with some of my DT cards.

Friday means a brand new challenge at

which is

DECOUPAGE

and we mean decoupage in cardmaking. As the wikipedia says it is 'the art of creating a 3D image by cutting out elements of varying sizes from a series of identical images and layering them on top of each other, usually with adhesive foam spacers between each layer to give the image more depth.'

So, just take your scissors and a 3D tape and create a fancy decuopage project.

Here's my DT card for this challenge.

I used that pencil pixie again, she's such a cutie! It is a Whimsie Doodles freebie. It is colored with promarkers. Here are all the layers.

It is hard to take a good photo of this 3D look.

Anyway, the mesh is recycled from a bouquet, and the button comes from an old blouse I bought at second-hand store (for these buttons mostly!). The whole blouse costed less, than the buttons themselves (if I just bought them as 'new' in haberdashery). The die-cutted scalloped background for the image is recycled from the gift paperbag. So, there's a lot of recycling here LOL

The sentiment says 'Best wishes'. I also used a washi tape with pink tiny flowers, and it is the first usage of this tape, even though I've been having it for months.
